›Gedankensalat‹ is one of my favourite German expressions. ›Thoughts Salad‹ means to have an more or less unorderly chaos of thoughts in the bowl of ones head … I think, it should be as kindly loved by the world as ›Zeitgeist‹, ›Kindergarten‹, ›Hinterland‹ or ›Ersatz‹.

On the 6th of February I had the honor to interview Matt Ruff during his european tour in Frankfurt/M. (Hopefully at some point this year, this interview will be provided here or elsewhere in the english blogosphere.)

»Great Tohobohu«

= Hebrew for ›great confusion‹, originally the name for the chaos at the beginning of creation. »{T}he earth was without shape {tohu} and empty {bohu}« as it is written in Genesis 1:2 of the New English Translation.

The original measures 375 x 270 mm and was drawn in February 1999 with a steel pen and Windsor & Newton Ink.

The image here is too small for appropriate enjoyment, but I hope you can get an impression.

During my wild boheme days in Vienna I lived together with two other artists in a community in Margareten (one of them, David Ramirer is blogging in German and I recommend that you browse his art in his old blog »Randnotizen« (›Side Notes‹) and his new blog). In that time we made free jazz together and I had the opportunity to play on a excellent Steinway piano. Here you can listen to the 6th and final session of my »Hanging Around The Heart« series. I think it's obvious that my improvisation is heavily influenced by the masterful art of piano wizzard Keith Jarrett.

1st Entry: What this is all about

Livejournal generates a blog when you create an livejournal account. I just want to have an account on Livejournal, so that my friends at Livejournal can befriend me, and to enable me to read all the entries in the blogs of my Livejournal friends (public AND private).

You can find my main blog at molochronik.antville.org. There I post only in German. But because I am an illustrator and musician you may be interested to browse there, watch my scribbles and listen to my stuff.

Music — So far you can listen here to a few short mouth music experiments made with Apples ›Garageband‹, my version of »The Second Coming« by Yeats and my piano improvisation »Hanging Around The Heart – Working For The Incubus (2)« (very large file!).

Sorry that I (still) don't have the balls to really blog in English. I try to provide a little bit of information about my art and music in my Molochronik entries, but shamefully I haven't done so in all the posts.

Since I don't have any problems to read and chat in English, I would be very glad if all you English speaking and writing people out there in the blogosphere leave comments about my stuff here or in my Molochronik.

EDIT (Monday, 04. Feb. 2008): From this year (2008) on, I will post all my stuff that isn‘t only of interest for the german blogosphere here. Be ready in the coming months for my art & music.
